**SEARCHING FOR A BOOK/TITLE**

**Basic Search**

1.Using a web browser, go to https://qcpl.quezoncity.gov.ph.  

2.In the search bar at the center of the page, type the title, author, or subject
of the desired  material and click the “Search” button.  

3.Keyword, Title, Author, and Category can be chosen to make the search
more specific.  

4.Browse the list of search results to find the desired material.  

5.Click on the title or cover of the material to view more details ab
out it, such as the availability,  location, and a brief description.  

6.Open access eBooks and digitized materials can be viewed for free and
without logging in.  

7.Contact the e-Resources Librarian at eresources.qcpl@quezoncity.gov.ph
to access the  subscribed databases.



**Advanced Search:**

1.Using a web browser, go to https://qcpl.quezoncity.gov.ph.  

2.Click the 'Advanced Search' button in the upper right corner of the search
bar.  

3.In the search bar at the center of the page, type the title, author, or subject
of the desired  material.  

4.Click “Show more” to make a Boolean search (and, or, not).  

5.Keyword, Title, Author, and Category can be chosen to make the search
more specific.  

6.Search can be limited by item type, publication date, library branch,
audience, content, and format.  

7.Click 'Search' when satisfied with the keywords and filters.  

8.Browse the list of search results to find the desired material.  

9.Click on the title or cover of the material to view more details about it, such
as the availability,  location, and a brief description.  

10.Open access eBooks and digitized materials can be viewed for free and
without logging in  using a web browser.  

11.Contact the e-Resources Librarian at eresources.qcpl@quezoncity.gov.ph
to access the  subscribed databases.

**RESERVING A BOOK**

When reserving a book, both QCeServices account and QCID are required.


1.Using a web browser, go to https://qcpl.quezoncity.gov.ph and login using
QCeServices credentials.  

2.Use the search bar to find the desired book for reservation.  

3.Click on the book title or cover to view its details.  

4.Choose the desired branch for pick-up location and click the “Reserve Book”
button.  

5.Choose the specific item (for books for multiple copies or volumes) and click
“Reserve”.  

6.A patron can reserve 3 books at a time.  

7.Confirmation of the reservation will be sent via email.  

8.Pick up reserved books within 5 days after confirmation, as the reservation will
expire.  

9.Book reservations and their status can be viewed under the “My Borrowings”
page.

**BOOK PICK-UP AND RETURN**

1.Upon receiving an email notification that the reserved book is available,
proceed to the designated branch for pick up

2.Borrower’s QCID must be presented to the library staff, prior book release.

3.Return book at any QCPL branch on or before the date indicated on the
book’s due slip.

**SUGGESTING A BOOK**

1.Using a web browser, go to https://qcpl.quezoncity.gov.ph and login using
QCeServices credentials. 

2.Click the Account page (look for this icon in the upper right corner of the page).

3.Click “Book Suggestions” and then “Add”.  

4.Provide the following information: Title, author, ISBN, publisher and series title
then click  “Submit”.  

5.The Collection Development Librarian will review and provide an update on the
book  suggestion made.

How to borrow a book (using the new borrowing system)

**Question: When is the library open?**

Answer: 

#### Main Library

- Monday-Friday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Sunday, Regular &#x26; Special Non-working Holidays: CLOSED
- Library extended hours are adjusted during breaks and Christmas Holiday Season. Check the library official website and Facebook page for schedule changes.

**Question: Can I borrow Books?**

Answer: Only clients with a QCitizen ID (QCID) may borrow a maximum of three (3) books at a time for a period of seven (7) days for home reading.

**Question: Does the library charge for overdue books?**

Answer: Yes, there is a charge of 1 peso per book per day.

**Question: How can I get a library pass?**

Answer: 

A library pass is given to library users who are not eligible to get a QCID (e.g., non-residents or those who do not work or study in Quezon City). The library pass is permanent and can be used in all QCPL branches. It is used for library attendance and on-site checkout of books; however, only library users with a QCID are allowed to borrow books for home reading.

**Question: Can I conduct/request an interview to support my research needs?**

Answer: Yes, Interviews by researcher/s to the librarians are allowed provided there is a written request sent to the City Librarian prior to the interview for proper scheduling.

**Question: Do I have to pay a fee for charging electronic devices? (e.g. Laptops, Cell Phones)**

Answer: Yes, clients must pay Twenty Pesos( ₱20.00) per hour per device (consumable/non-refundable); as per approved Ordinance No. 2291, S-2014 (D)-Fines and Fees.

Answer: The following are the selected QCPL branch libraries that offer Saturday library services:
